It’s been a while since I’ve written. As I’m writing this I’m in the dark of a dungeon corrupted by evil.
So here’s what’s happened:
We were getting ready to leave town when the priest of the town asked us to find out why their sacred apple delivery was not being delivered. We agreed to take up the quest and look into it with the tribe of goblins who traded with them.
We entered the dungeon where this item was presumed to be procured and ended up battling rooms full of bugbears and goblins. Due to my deft skill as a cleric, as well as some input from the muscle of the group, we survived the incursions and made it down to fight rooms with moving trees.
We chopped through them like lumbermen possessed, and ended up seeing a large tree. It was being protected by a cleric and two other humans, along with a frog creature and more trees.
The wookie picked up the paladin and launched him with a yell of “DETECT EVIL!”, to which the paladin expressed mid flight that all of them were evil. We slew them all, and then the mage cast every fire spell on the tree which oozed evil, only to destroy it with a magic missle spell.
On the corpses we found a medal to Pelor, a good god. This baffles me as I cannot figure out how he was able to still cast spells and be evil. Corruption has some extents, but Pelor traditionally only grants gifts to those who follow his path.
Anyways, I’m baffled, and slightly concerned about the Wookie beast that has taken up with us. His impulsive behavior will no doubt cause us to destroy something good and wholesome in this world. Also worth mentioning, he will probably get us killed.
I don’t know exactly how long I can travel with these folks, for Garl Glittergold is a forgiving god, but I could easily forsee the furry beast going far beyond that reach. Therefore he makes my presence here tenuous.
In speaking with the mage, she said “We’ll just have to kill everything until he changes his mind.”
The mage must have failed her wisdom courses, because firstly, that’s a great way to get killed, and secondly, that course of action will lead us to incessant grinding in this hostile world.
