Ork Warboss G’arzagg was on the Waaaagh path, terrorizing the great plains of Areus, his boys had a short force advanced before the rest of the troops had roused from their fungus beer rage. An advanced scouting party had left, but only one came back, bloodied and missing half his arm. His last few words before he died was “Dem Bugz is comin‘.” Continue reading

A Scream heard throughout the stars….

Captain Drakkar was sitting in his breifing room discussing the most recent menaces to the solar system with Platius Fabius, a space marine chaplain.
“So let us discuss how best to defeat the Tyranid swarm.” he said to his companion.

“Well, thus far we have had some success in denying them planets. However the more worlds we destroy, the less defensive outposts we have between here and the emperor himself.” said Fabius.

Drakkar frowned. “We definitely can’t afford that, especially since the empire has invested so much into the Arius system. We have mines on the outer rings collecting several rare metals. We budding colony on Marzim, after fifty years it finally has a breathable atmosphere instead of that methane murk it was stewing in. Arius, Well firstly, it is home to my family and I, a virtual paradise compared to the ice worlds of valhalla. Secondly with the infernal Tyranids already on us we either destroy us and millions of settlers since evacuation is riddled between Hive Queens, the ork fleet and those damnable chaos marines. Not only would we be strapped for escape, but we’d go through veritable firing range to get there.”

Fabius had gone paler and paler through the Captains’ speech.

Drakkar asked, “Are you ok Chaplain”

“No, I am not.” stated Fabius. “I feel that something very disturbing is on it’s way.”

Hive Fleet Gremlin

Hive fleet Gremlin began on the destruction of hive fleet Kraken. As a small splinter fleet, the hive has grown, consuming planets whole and further expanding the Tyranid race. Along the way the strains have grown into their own unique forms and have found their way to the Airius solar system. Although budding colonies along the outer fringes of the fertile zone, the solar system hosts one extremely fertile central planet of which several human settlements have taken root.

The hive was given the distinction Gremlin when an Astropath described the disturbance in the warp like “Gremlins were tinkering with it”. Then when the hive fleet appeared it seemed gremlins had indeed gotten a hold of the gear. Guns missed their locations, tanks equipped with pin point accuracy couldn’t hit anything, if it was left to chance, chance was cocked to denial.

The most feared element of Gremlin was not the machinery mishaps however. It was the genestealers hiding behind a wall of termagaunts. They would arrive on top of the defensive forces almost before the first trooper could even squeeze a trigger. As the fight to preserve the planet continues, the defensive forces have been waiting for relief, only to discover that a new genus of gaunt and genestealer have arrived. These nightmares move even more quickly, and with the addition of several raveners the assaults are rapid, furious and bloody.

If left unchecked hive fleet Gremlin may consume the whole solar system before help can arrive.
