Grand Master Helios Kar surveyed the desolate world below him from the launch bay of the Emperor’s Wrath. His strike force was arrayed behind him prepared for the conflict that was about to begin. Brother-Librarian Gervin Hath would be reporting in soon with the location and advanced intelligence he and the advanced team of Purifiers had gathered.
Like usual, an Inquisitor had requested the brotherhood to send a strike force to the planet to retrieve the alien artifacts that had been detected. They had been found during a routine scan by a long range probe. Besides the imperfect reports from a centuries old report that indicated a possible tomb complex on the surface, no other details were available to aid them in preparing for what laid ahead.
“Brothers, listen well Brother Gervin and Squad Fames will be sending strike coordinates soon.” The stoic figures behind him came to attention immediately. “There are several artifacts on the surface that need to be captured and retrieved. To this end you are all tasked to make it happen no matter the consequences.”
The vox channel in Kar’s helmet squelched into his ear as he turned from his men.
“Emperor’s Wrath, this is advanced squad Alpha. We have arrived at the location of the tomb complex. It appears that a Necron force has already awakened in response to our presence. I highly advise that we begin our operation now before they can mobilize any more troops. Over.”
“Brother Gervin, this is Brother Kar, Commence with the operation. We will rally on your location. Over.” Turning back to the arrayed men-at-arms around him, “Brothers, we fight!”

Sadly, I completely forgot to roll the other attacks in my first turn assault of the Monolith. I had forgotten that the Might of Titan psychic ability had given all my guys 2d6 armour penetration. I probably would have destroyed it and then not had to engage it on my second turn with the Dreadknight.
Oh well. I will know next time.

There is something wrong with naming your purifiers after your skaven clan.
Wondered if anyone would catch that.
It’s ok, we all know my pet name for the grey knights…. They always look better with a darklance through their forehead.
