The game was absolutely intense. We started out with the pre session and then jumped right into the meat of the story. It ended up becoming more than I expected out of an evening and was a pleasant surprise. It truly proves how much can get done when combat isn’t the primary focus.
Pre session:
Malik: He gleaned information on the contenders for job of Police Chief and also discovered that the money that was missing from his accounts was wired to Jack’s account.
Tim: Augustus invites Tim to partake in a special ceremony in Tim’s honor. Tim also followed up on some of the traps he had, and followed them through to a computer desk within the company. On looking at the employee records he managed to track down an interior employee named Jason Barn who was stationed at the desk where the holes in the system were opened.
Mike: Cars come in for minor repairs. One of the cars, a Fiat comes in with a blown tire. The driver sets off Mike’s vampire sense. He carries a scroll with him and identifies himself as Volomir Czechistan. Mike later finds out he is a member of Ordo Dracul, and a potential trainer for his skills. Volomir is a janitor at the city library in the central district. He agrees to train Mike if he can find out some information that is worth while to the order in Phantom City.
Mike also ordered some armor for his stolen El Camino and bullet proof glass. He was told that the parts would most likely become available within a week. He also was looking into getting a motor and suspension kit to compensate for the additional weight.
Sasha: Basically nothing additional happened for Sasha on this pre session. He stated that he was going to meet up with Mike and they would go from there.
Scott: Last game left off with Scott in some trouble. He was summoned to visit Vinnie tonight at a hole in the wall bar. Vinnie reiterated that Scott was lucky the sheriff didn’t kill him outright and was willing to overlook the issue if he could take out a target with the utmost secrecy.
He told Scott that he would forgive his transgression if he could instead kill the new potentate for the police chief position, Jesse Clyde.
B: finished building the gun that Neves had requested, and decided he was going to hold on to it for a little bit tonight instead of instantly contacting Neves. He had practice tonight at the gym and so then went to work out.
Jack: Jack receives a call from Huntington. He states that if Jack is interested he can invest in the casino. The result would let the developers cut through red tape and possibly get the Casino functional with 6 months. Jack thought it sounded promising but didn’t immediately commit.
The Night’s Events:
The coterie started out in several different sections. Sasha and Mike went to B so they could get the silencers he had made for their guns. B informed Malik that he was going to bring the .60 caliber gun he had made to Arthur Neves in the rail yards.
Meanwhile, Scott camped out atop a building near city hall, hoping to get a clear shot at Clyde. Clyde came out with someone and therefore Scott did not take the shot. He received a call from Malik to help out on another issue.
Tim finished up with the ceremonies and saw that he had received a number of phone calls to do research on Neves.
Malik and Jack went to the Golddigger, where Malik filled Tim in on prior events. Brian told Malik about the gamble with someone named “Snow” which Tim then did a search on his VOIP.net system and the internet. The corresponding information brought up Snow Heating and Air, which was owned by Arthur Neves. He had lost a million to this guy and wanted his head.
After connecting the dots, Malik ordered everyone via conference call to make Neves priority number one. Tim went to Apex Labs to uncover what he could on Neves and his shell companies, While B was told to stall Neves as best as he could. Scott was routed to the rail yard to help out B.
B, Sasha and Mike were on route and had permission from Neves to have them go along with him as long as the other two stayed in the car. Neves gave the rail car number and B showed up, hoping to stall him. They chatted for a few minutes, but Neves was very short and abrupt with him. He pulled the blackmail card and stated that he didn’t trust B but thus far he had held up his end of the bargain, providing a double that fit B’s description very closely to keep him out of jail. B, thwarted, was asked to leave the car while Neves tested the gun. It put a dent in the metal rail car they were previously in.
B went to investigate and found the car empty, but found shards of metal and splinters of wood. He called Malik, horrified that he had just provided a potential enemy with a stake gun.
At this time Scott had just arrived to hear that the events were done with. The coterie was to meet at Apex Labs.
Tim was doing some research on Neves, and then coupled it with the Pinwheel of 7′s design that the group had found previously. He found a correlation between towns that had serious power changes on many night-lifers. Those who filled the power void were usually not killed afterwards, and the pinwheels weren’t noticed afterwards. After finding out about another individual in the war room, Claus “The Doctor” Ackman, Tim included him in the search and found the same correlation. Claus they found out had a long history as a Nazi doctor in the neuroscience division.
Mike shared this with Volomir, who granted the information stated he would be willing to take him on and begin his training.
Malik requested a meeting with Vinnie, which they had at the Ring, so he could inform Vinnie of their discoveries and his suspicion of Seven being part of this movement.
Meanwhile he sent Mike, Sasha and B to do recon of the doctor’s job and his house. Scott went back to hunting his prey, and Tim continued to refine his search for the individuals (along with a heap of additional tasks he was trying to accomplish).
Scott scouted out the home of Clyde and saw him going through the nightly routine of going to bed. Leveling his site at Clyde’s head he caused some massive trauma that would have required swift medical treatment. The followup shot finished the job, a shot to the chest.
Mike, B and Sasha went to the good doctors place of employment, St. Jude’s hospital, and found out he was in surgery. Not wanting to raise suspicions, they went to his house to get some information and quietly survey the area. They approached the house to see what kind of security to look for and Mike spotted a bull mastiff in the front room through the window. B, insistent that he needed to get inside, had Sasha open the lock to the front door.
Sasha went to disable the home alarm system, while B walked in and tried to take out the bull mastiff. The dog proved to be almost more than he could handle (poor dice on both sides) until Sasha pulled a gun out and put the Mastiff out of its misery. The gunshot alerted the neighbors and Mike and Sasha rushed to the car while B decided he was going to search the place. In the short time he had to search before the police showed up B found nothing of interest.
The night ended with Tim having tons of research to do, and everyone else ready for a quiet evening.
