Hey all. Time to give a little update on how the forces of the Empire are doing. The Men of Carnarvon are coming on nicely. I started with two boxes of State Troopers and have all twenty of them assembled and at least base-coated. Of those I have five fully painted and ten more in the process. More importantly I have grown the force in size much, recently.
As you can see I have add an old Empire Battalion box set, a Great Cannon/Mortar box set and the General of the Empire box set. I chose the old Empire Battalion set (I lucked out that our local shop still had one) because it had the ten Greatswords which I needed for my first 1000 points. The new Battalion box has the Cannon instead of the Greatswords which I also needed, but it was cheaper to buy it this way. Of coarse the Great Cannon/Mortar box was also needed for my first milestone, so I picked one of those up too. In fact it was the first thing I opened!
It is quite a ways on and I plan on having it finished in the next couple of evenings. Last, but not least, I picked up the General of the Empire box set. It comes with enough bits to make both a mounted and foot character. I plan on using both, one for my BSB captain on foot and I am going to take my General on a horse (for convenience sake). This will give me everything I need for the first milestone except my Wizard.
Oh yeah that is right a few things have changed in both Omni’s and my own 1000 point lists. Omni decided having all his necromantic eggs in one basket was probably not a good idea and switched up his level four Necromancer with a level three and a level two Necromancer instead. Works out to about the same points, but gives him a little more versatility in the long run.
I also decided to do some adjusting after watching Shawn from Blue Table Painting (they have a great YouTube Channel too) play against his old rival Josh without a Wizard (I was doing something similar by taking a Warrior Priest instead). It was obvious that some Wizard support is really mandatory, definitely against an opponent like Vampire Counts.
All in all I think we are both in really great positions with our respective armies. We are pretty sure we will be able to get some practice games in soon with our 1000 point lists. I also have a great start on my 1500 point list as well.

It’s great to see that Diablo III has loosed its hold on you at least temporarily. The Cannon looks great, I can’t wait to see it blow itself up in our first game.
