Apocalypse Update

Well with the game right around the corner it was time to improve our selection of super heavies. The budget was slim but we couldn’t have a game of apocalypse without some titanic war machines, and as luck would have it we were able to track down a couple of really good deals on eBay for just that. New happenings: A personal log from the drunken gremlin

I’ve been a laggard when it has come to updating the blog on the Aelland campaign, which is entirely my fault.  It’s not due to lack of inspiration to visit the blog and update, but instead it’s more like an overabundance of inspiration.  So here’s what’s on my laundry list: Continue reading

Apocalypse Now!!!

Queue the epic music now and crank up the volume. If your hair doesn’t move with the vibrations you haven’t turned it up high enough. Now on to the main event. At the end of April we had a brief time when all the club’s mini wargamers were able to assemble and put their armies to the ultimate test, an epic 20000 Pt Apocalypse battle. Continue reading

Special report – New York City GW Stop

Hello everyone. Boy do I have an update for you! This last weekend theDragonReborn and I were on the road from Connecticut to Kansas as I joined him on his trip home from military training. We decided, since we were in the neighborhood, to make a stop through the Big Apple and visit the local GW store. Continue reading

REVIEW: Infinity the Game

As consummate gamers our little group is open to, and have played, many games over the years. Starting with D&D back in the day; to Warhammer in many of its forms; to Vampire, Magic and a few custom built games or our own. We have whiled away many a night creating great memories and gained many new friends along the way, and that doesn’t even count our online gaming endeavors.

Now we have added a new game to our list; one, I would argue, that is starting to garner a similar level of love as to that of Warhammer 40K. That’s right we started playing Infinity by Corvus Belli. Continue reading

Squig Hoppers Season Begins

Yesterday we decided to take the next step in the squig hoppers game and playtest an aspect of the game that got minimal playtesting in prior renditions.  The League play.  One round down and the only modification is that if players finish, they are guaranteed at least 2 standing points .  If their squig gets eaten….  well….  they get no points. Continue reading

New gaming table:

Here’s the scenario: Last Wednesday Nurgle had placed his nasty clutches on me for a second and so I cancelled the game (which was previously scheduled at AG’s). I didn’t realize what was planned at the time, but apparently everyone who had a part in this had nearly panicked when I cancelled.

Updated: Temporary Change of Venue

For one time only we are changing venues to AgnosticGods’ house due to wife issues.  (Aka she has to work and doesn’t think “Gaming Husband Syndrome” is a good reason to call in).  So instead of letting him get away with another week free of abuse (err gaming), we are moving venues.

To the plus side, this may mean that we can play a round or two of Squig Hoppers.  Honestly I’ve been craving a couple rounds of chaotic bouncy mayhem!

UPDATE: Due to the effects of papa Nurgle on the GuinnessGremlin, this weeks session has been cancelled. :(
