Atlantis Gaming Group-Game notes 5/25

Bason, Donk and Michael were awoken by Hathor and Agamemnon who stated that a rogue named Thantos had abducted Helen, the serving girl at the siren. Thantos stated that he would return Helen to them if the three were given to him dead or alive and hog tied.

The party hatched a plan to play dead at the meeting site, a location a day and a half ride from the city at the foot of the Razor Ridge mountains. They tied up any affairs that were in town, and travelled to the site, a clearing with a large nearly sheer cliff to the northern edge, a cave to the east and a briar to the south. The party could sense ambush and even spotted most of the bandits while bound.

Once Helen was released, the players pulled out of their loose bindings and grabbed their weapons. The thugs started shooting at the party, and Bason created a fog around himself and Helen to protect them from getting shot. The rest of the party upset the ambush, forcing The leader to flee.

On the route back the group was unassailed, and Agamemnon went to celebrate with Helen.

A week passed when Delfina brought another victim of a crash. He called himself Monk and he carried a staff with an air of confidence. Donk, training hard with Hathor to learn the ways of the warrior, and so dragged Bason and Monk to the arena. The arena master talked Monk into fighting too. The battle was brutal, leaving one Gladiator, Monk and Donk.

Donk made short work of the gladiator, leaving Monk to charge him. Donk proved swifter than he looks, with a sweeping blow that wounded Monk. Monk was unable to recover and fell.

While Donk was doing his victory cheer, a patron from the stands tried to skewer him with a crossbow bolt. While it struck, it merely grazed Donk. Bason was sitting in the rafters just above the culprit and fell clumsily on him. The patron tried to blame Bason for the attack, but the crowd stated that they saw quite clearly that Bason had no weaponry to name.

Shortly thereafter the party was accosted by a panhandler with a raven at his shoulder. He offered them a job from another employer to recover a box from an ambushed cart. The party encountered some sea monsters that were half beast half fish. The players dispatched these monsters with very little difficulty and found the destroyed ruins of the cart.

They opted to return the box undisturbed, in return they essentially got a get out of jail free card from the employer.

Atlantis: The Gathering Game Notes 3/9

STORYLINE: Michael awoke and went immediately to the Hephaestus guild to check on the construction of a set of throwing needles he was having created to find out that the smith had not had enough time to construct such devices from scratch. The party separated after that for a bit. Bason watching the activity in the market, and Donk going to try to convince Hathor to come watch him battle in the arena again. Continue reading

Atlantis: The Gathering Game Notes: 3/2

And so the group got together to play Atlantis: The Journey Wednesday. Charlie playing Bason Jorne, Matt playing Michael, and Daniel playing Donk. We covered some issues including a confusing moment with the magic phase. I read the book and determined that although the rules did cover the occasion in question, it could be written to more clearly and definitively clarify the rules. Continue reading
