The True Nature of Chaos

So Victor and I have reached a stage in our Friday afternoon gaming where simply playing normal games of 40k will appease our need for carnage. So in an effort to mix up the normal order of pick an army, set up the table, and play the game we have decided to throw a little bit of randomness into the mix. We have made a list of the 10 armies available for us to play with and we both roll a d10 to decide which army we’ll be in command of for that day. The only real rules for this new system is you can only re-roll once every other game to get a different army, and once you have rolled your army you have the rest of that day to build your list. It’s turned out to be a great way to expand our knowledge of tactics, as well as giving each of us a new insight into each others armies. As it is quite possible to roll an army you don’t normally play you get the opportunity to try something new, use a fun list not based off of how strong it is, and play against an army that very well could be your own. Space Wolves House Training

This last Friday the mighty Space Wolves received yet another chance to prove their abilities, this time against the Tau. We played a 2000 PT game, a hammer and anvil deployment Emperor’s Will game, and it wasn’t an easy game for either side. Continue reading

Daemons in the 40k Universe

Well I have once again expanded my forces, this time with the addition of the chaos-y goodness that is Daemons. I have set the army up to play Warhammer 40k but with the help of some special movement trays they just might find their way through the warp to the world of Warhammer Fantasy Battles. I have already managed to get in two games with my Daemons, the first against Space Marines was a solid win though the footage of the game was unfortunately lost in the Warp. My second game was against the Tau Empire and it was a close game that showed just how solid shooting has become in the new meta of 6th Edition. Continue reading

Racial Statements Pertaining to the new Rules- Xenos and Human

So, I was assigned by Atlantis Gaming Group to get an official statement from each of the races on their feelings about the new rule changes.  You wouldn’t believe how hard it was to get them all to arrive, but using our considerable clout within the WH40K community, I got dignitaries from every major group. Warhammer 40K 6th ed.

This weekend I was invited to join Victor in a test run on the 6th ed rules.  AG and Victor had a previous run, and so I benefitted from their prior experience in the set (check out youtube for our primary video).  All in all I was pleased with the rules set and believe it makes the playing field a bit more level.  Below are the detailed reasons why. Tau vs Orks Game 34

Well I am not going to let GG beat me to it this time so here goes. We played another 40k game this week, another Battle Mission that pitted the shooting might of the Tau against the close combat monster of the Orks. Continue reading
